With that in mind, GOG has announced its latest venture, GOG Galaxy 2.0. Well, it looks like the Good Old Games Store is listening to these pleas, as it now tries its hand at something no other third-party company has done: bringing the community together as one. It’s not the biggest problem to speak of, but if we’re going off on convenience, most people would just love to have their games on one launcher. Most players on the PC platform aren’t really fond of the way exclusivity works, especially since playing these titles forces one to go to the Epic Games Launcher, a games launcher with glaring issues and problems, without even mentioning the supposed spyware loaded into it.

The giant company behind the battle royal sensation Fortnite is showing a habit of buying out exclusivity rights for PC titles, a move that was met mostly with disgust and distrust from PC gamers at large, as it’s ultimately robbing them of consumer choice. GOG Galaxy will also track your in-game progress for you, which itself handily appears right under the game title in the launcher. You can connect a number of games accounts to it besides your GOG library: Steam, Epic.
While the release of the Epic Games Store was hailed by some as something that will infuse new lifeblood into the PC gaming industry, its arrival shortly after was much more derisively received. GOG Galaxy 2.0 is a simple, lightweight client that tracks what games you have and how much you play them.
